Just Ask Prevention trained Police and Public Officials in Tlaquepaque, Mexico

On May 13, the Municipal Government of San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Mexico launched the training program “Protecting Communities from Human Trafficking: a collaborative analysis“. The training was led by Just Ask Director Bill Woolf and hosted by the Municipal Government and the Prevention of Crime Unit from the local Police.

Tlaquepaque’s Mayor Maria Elena Limon Garcia mentioned that her government is prioritizing any support that can provide the fundamentals to improve strategies to prevent daily crimes.  Her government is looking into human trafficking as a crime that is alarmingly growing.

Today, criminals attract their victims easier and faster due to technology and our children spend too much time communicating through social media. For these reasons, we must learn the latest technologies and strategies to be able to advocate for our community and our families. We know it will be hard, it would be easier to not do anything at all, but we cannot stand idly by what is happening [to our children]“, said Mayor Limon
